- Luxurious or more practical?

Level loop pile(Berber) hardwearing and strong and won’t flatten much, not great with pets as they can break the loop pile with their claws
Cut Pile(Saxony,Frieze and Shag) The most common type of carpet, general rule of this style is the deeper the pile is the more the pile can flatten. Pile density is an important factor to consider.
Cut loop pile This style combines both loop and cut piles to give the appearance of a patterned textured carpet.
